#BlogchatterA2Z S for Strong & Smart- They are indeed a stronger lot

Role of women has changed with every century that has passed by. They have adopted new roles, and have shed various apprehensions associated with them since time immemorial. There is always a comparison between women of good olden days and women of today. Women in olden days were more restricted to their families, their roles were defined by the society and they had to live with that. With generations passing women have become more independent as they are making more and more advances. Today’s women are smart and strong. They are raised altogether differently in comparison to those of olden days. And the basic right of education is making the major difference in how women are looked upon and treated too.Strong, Smart With due respect to our older generations and women of good olden days, I have to say women today are smarter and stronger. Today they have more or less equal rights like the opposite gender. They have a strong right to education, express their emotions and feeling, take up high paid jobs, and take care of various high-value roles as well. They have indeed come quite far in their journey of growth and happiness.

With time and generations passing a lot has changed for women. Though at some levels there are still things and crimes that women are exposed too. Rape, domestic violence, sexual harassment, molestation, eve-teasing is some of the crimes which are still on the rise and women are hugely affected by this. Despite all, this and more situation for women have changed. Women, who now represent 48.2% of the population, are getting access to education, and then employment. From 5.4 million girls enrolled at the primary level in 1950-51 to 61.1 million girls in 2004-05. At the upper primary level, the enrolment increased from 0.5 million girls to 22.7 million girls. Data courtesy this website. The data is a bit old but is used to emphasize how the situation has become relatively better for women.Strong Smart Over the year’s women have realized their true potential, and have started questioning the set rules made by society for them. With these questions on the rules laid down by society, women have started breaking barriers and have earned a respectable and strong position in society. They have become very smart in how they deal with the world and others treat her.

Today’s women are not just taking care of their careers but are also playing a wonderful role of being a smart and strong homemaker. They are raising great individuals, climbing the corporate ladder, expressing their thoughts and going places where women in olden days can only dream of. Things have changed and are continuously changing for women. Aside from being strong and smart they are self-sufficient today and can easily be called superwomen for their ability to juggle life and various fronts single-handedly.We as a responsible citizen of our country should constantly encourage the growth of women in our families and let, they achieve their dreams and make a place for themselves in a still male-dominated society.

With this, I close my post for the day and urge you to stay tuned for the next in line and that is T.
