Top 7 Reasons to use Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Skincare

The biggest organ of the human body is the skin, and our facial skin is 3 times softer than the skin that is available on our body. So, we have to take care of our face a little more. Hyaluronic Acid is also known as hyaluronate is a substance that is naturally produced in our body. It has a prolific amount of benefits like making skin healthier, treating dry skin, anti-ageing, hydrating skin and reducing acid reflux. Widely available as serums, supplements, eye drops and even injections. And in this article, we will discuss the top 7 reasons to use the hyaluronic acid serum for skincare in brief.

Smoother Skin
Who doesn’t want smooth and clear skin? Hyaluronic acid helps in making the skin really smooth. As we age, our skin gets rougher and hyaluronic acid helps in reducing the roughness and making the skin smoother than before.

Anti-ageing
After knowing that hyaluronic acid makes our skin smooth, another reason to use hyaluronic acid is that it can significantly decrease the depth of wrinkles and enhance skin firmness and elasticity. That means hyaluronic acid helps in anti-ageing. Hyaluronic acid can also help in less formation of wrinkles. As we age, the elastin in the skin breaks down, and skin loses its snap, or bounce back. Hyaluronic acid helps in that matter a lot.

Hydrates the skin
In order to have healthy skin, we should take care that our skin is hydrated enough. If our skin isn’t hydrated, it will become dry, and dry skin leads to breakouts and other problems. Hyaluronic acid increases skin moisture, and it also gives an overall boost in the skin texture of those who have dry skin.

Helps in reducing pigmentation
Dark spots occur due to a difference in melanin levels. It helps in reducing pigmentation and dark spots. It is also helpful in reducing and preventing age spots and pigmentation. By retaining moisture in the skin, hyaluronic acid helps in reducing pigmentation and blemishes on the skin.

Hyaluronic acidHumectant
Humectants are substances that attract water from the air or from deeper into the skin. In simple words, the humectant is like a sponge, it will continue to hold onto moisture and draw it back. They allow hydrogen bonding that does attract water, acting like a sponge. Examples of humectants in skincare products include ingredients like glycerin, sorbitol (sugar alcohol), hexylene and butene glycol, and of course, hyaluronic acid. After getting in the first layer of the skin, hyaluronic acid acts as a humectant and continues to draw moisture in from the surrounding environment.

Lipid Barrier Enhancement
Our skin’s natural lipid barriers are made up of fatty acids that are available in our bodies. Our skin products our other organs such as the liver, heart, and even bones and then, our skin also protects us from toxins and UV rays that are available in the outer world. But our skin also needs to be protected. Hyaluronic acid helps in locking the moisture by strengthening the skin’s natural barriers. Over time, this can help slow down the deterioration of the lipid barrier and help protect and fortify it.

Stimulates Skin Cell Regeneration
After the age of 25, the growth of new skin cells slows up because collagen and elastin production in the skin starts getting slower and slower and also starts getting depleted. It takes a period of 28 days for new cells to get built in the skin, but as we age the period becomes 90 days. Hyaluronic acid also helps in the regeneration of new cells. It hydrates the skin really well and that naturally results in healthier skin cells.

Yes I had heard the benefits of using hyaluronic acid in skin care and used it few times personally too. but I feel it is best to use it after proper medical advice because it may cause some side effects in sensitive individuals.
