Top 7 Money Plant varieties found in India

Money Plant is one of the most widely available plants in India and can be found in all the households in some of the other corners of the house. They have gained more popularity as they can be grown both in soil and water and in fact even in jellies. Also famous for helping purify the indoor air quality it’s widely kept as a home décor element as well.

This is one of the easiest to grow, manage and propagate kind of a plant and are available in many varieties. Since I love these plants a lot, I have managed to get hold of almost all the varieties in my house, and trust me they call me the money plant lady in our society now as I have huge ones too. So today in this post I am going to be sharing varieties of money plants that you can easily pot in the house.

Here is the list of the top 7 money plant varieties found in India

  • Golden Pothos/Money plant- This is one of the quite common varieties of money plants. It’s also called golden pothos or devil’s Ivy. The bright leaves of this plant have golden and yellow shades on them. They look beautiful in hanging planters, in large posts with moss sticks, to create boundaries in your balcony or garden too. They are very good and hard to kill kinds of plants. They are quite adaptable to their environment and can be grown indoors or outdoors too. Remember that they do not like too much sunlight so keep in indirect light.

They are drought tolerant and fast-growing houseplants that can easily survive in less sunlight. The leaves are quite big and lobate in structure. The cuts on it make it all the more beautiful. You need to take care when it starts growing the roots might start to come off the pot so you got to repot in the bigger pot.

  • Marble Prince money plant-So the major difference between marble queen and marble king plant is the distinct white and green colors of the leaves. They require less light and thus can easily survive indoors.
  • Silver money plant- This is a beautiful variety of money plants for the lovely silver linings on these velvety leaves. Due to its variegation and beautiful foliage, silver is also known as satin pothos. They grow well in indirect light and the leaves may burn in direct light. You could hang these as they look beautiful when hung on the planters.Money Plant
  • Swiss Cheese money plant (Monstera variety)- Yet another indoor plant with beautiful big leaves with cuts in between. These perforated patterns on the leaves make it quite appealing and look like cheese. It’s basically a climber and can be grown indoors or outdoors as well. They like bright but indirect sunlight.
  • Neon Money plant– The neon money plant has a different and unique color of its leaves. It almost looks yellow to neon in shade and makes for a striking plant when kept indoors or outdoors. These money plants have strikingly different and unique foliage, which looks pretty as a picture. Neon Money Plants have a bright golden yellow color that offers it Neon or glowing effect. This glow is visible more in the young leaves than in the mature ones.Money plant

So, these are some of the most beautiful money plant varieties that you would love to bring to your house. The best part is all these can be grown just by cuttings. I have the golden one, the normal one. And I have the neon one which was sold on Amazon as golden. We thought it was the watering that was affecting it, then we read that it’s probably the neon one that we bought. Lol.
