Zillion reasons to have beautiful plants and greenery at home

There were times when plants could only be found in gardens, offices, malls, and parks around. But things and times have changed and plants have paved their way indoors. Space and where you live don’t matter anymore. Whether you have rented space, a huge backyard/front yard, or not. Plants can be kept in the smallest of available spaces now. You can grow your own garden easily indoors by putting plants in pots, boxes, or hanging containers. Today in this post of mine I am pouring all my love for plants and sharing reasons to have beautiful plants and greenery at home.reasons to have beautiful plants

Here are 5 reasons you should have plants at home.

  1. Natural air purifiers– Plants are indeed the best form of natural air purifiers. They cleanse the air and help us get rid of toxic chemicals present in the air. In fact, they also help in improving the humidity of the room and helps in protecting from respiratory problems, dry cough, and sore throat. You could bring in spider plants, aloe vera, snake plants, peace lily, bamboo palms, and chrysanthemums to help beautify the indoors and also cleanse the air.
  2. Help reduce stress- Having greenery around you immensely helps in reducing mental stress. Plants are also great to reduce heart rate, BP, and respiratory problems. So you know if you need good health, it indeed is a great idea to have plants around you.
  3. Gives you food- Given the chemicals present in most of the vegetables bought from the market, it’s a great idea to grow your own food. Having a small vegetable garden with all sorts of plants is a great way to make your own food. It also saves money and ensures that whatever you eat is fresh and chemical-free. You could grow tomatoes, okra, coriander, chilly, cucumber, spinach, and many more veggies at home.
  4. Home décor– They come in quite handy when it’s about home décor. Plants make the atmosphere of the house lively and quite welcoming too. When placed creatively in the house they make for the most amazing home décor.
  5. Helps sleep better– There are few specific plants that help in sleeping better. Indoor plants like Jasmine, Lavender, Aloe Vera, and Gardenia can increase the quality of one’s sleep when placed in your bedroom. These plants give off a gentle soothing effect to one’s body and mind which can lower heart rate, blood pressure, and stress levels. It also reduces anxiety levels leading to better mood and quality of sleep.reasons to have beautiful plants reasons to have beautiful plants

The list of reasons can just go on as to why you should have plants in the house. It goes without saying that a house with plants looks more refreshing than one without. Aside from how its beauty can make you feel happy, culturally, plants are known to have a strong spiritual link with us. Plants are even part of some of our major life events. The presence of plants contributes to the general feeling of wellbeing, making people happier and more optimistic about life.

Greenary..it makes me feel that I a breathing something fresh. When we moved in to our house, I decided to have one plant in each room. And luckily I am able to do that. Greenery gives me a much needed boost and energy and sometimes when I am writing sitting in my small garden, it gives me fresh ideas.

I couldn’t agree more than this. Yes, I firmly believe that having plants at home adds many tangible and intangible benefits to our lives. I want to mention that I got back my love for plants last year in lockdown. And I am thoroughly enjoying its positivity.

I absolutely loved this post, Rakhi. My terrace garden is an escape place for me and you will often find me sitting there with my book, in the evening. This pandemic has made my husband fell in love with gardening and we all are enjoying the benefit of it 🙂

Plants are the way to relax and destress for me, I got this from my mother who is an ardent plant lover and has more than 1500 plants at her home. These are indeed the reasons why we must have green babies at home.
