Indian EdTech Startup BYJU’S goes Global

The current pandemic situation has fast-forwarded the adoption of digital learning and education in India and abroad. The EdTech industry is currently estimated to be worth $8 billion globally. Flushed with VC funds and new user sign-ups, many EdTech companies began to thrive in India and started expanding to other parts of the globe.

Indian EdTech Startup BYJU’S goes Global

One among these local-to-global EdTech startups is BYJU’S. BYJU’S is the leading EdTech Company, which cater to India’s 265 million school-going students. And after disrupting the market for online education in India, BYJU’S has set its foot in select global markets riding on acquisitions. BYJU’S has made its biggest push to expand internationally with the launch of a new product- BYJU’S Future School.

Indian EdTech Startup BYJU’S goes Global

BYJU’S Future School

BYJU’S Future School is an online live one-on-one learning platform. The main focus of BYJU’S Future School is to cross the bridge from passive learning to active learning for students. During the initial phase, they are offering Math and coding subjects. It’s an interactive program that helps students learn and understand the real-life applications of Math and coding. Both programs are designed to help children learn at their own pace.

Key features of BYJU’S Future School

  • Future school global presence- It is currently present in 6 countries namely the USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia and Mexico.
  • Female driven programme– Equipped with 11,000 qualified female teachers who are leading the programme and teaching student across borders.
  • Multiple languages- Programme is available in Spanish & Portuguese as well.
  • Subjects offered- Math and coding are the two subjects offered currently. There are plans to introduce a coding curriculum in games and cryptocurrency.

BYJU’S will gradually progress and expand in other geographies in future. The best part is that this entire initiative is backed by a women-only teaching team majorly based out of India and fast expanding in non-English speaking countries such as Mexico and Brazil. They already have 200 teachers in Mexico with over 1,000 students on the platform in the country.

This could very well turn India into a global hub for education after IT. It could lead to improvement in the quality of education in India and also generate more job opportunities in the near future. What are your views on this? Let us know in the comment section below.
