Feeling sad constantly for more than 2 weeks can be a symptom of depression. Sadness basically occurs after a loss of something, it can be a thing or person. And especially in the case of children, they are too young to endure the loss or sadness. Once they fell into the ‘trap’ of sadness, then it is a huge task itself to recover from it. Some causes of persistent sadness are lack of attention, dismay and loneliness. There are some specific gestures from which you can understand if a child is sad, for instance, downcast eyes, lowered lip corners, lowered inner eyebrows, walking slower than usual and crying. And if you see any of the gestures in a child, you should see seek medical help.

Yes, parents do take care of the appetite of their child but they often neglect certain noticeable changes. Change in eating habits specifically means loss of appetite here. Loss of appetite can result in making the situation even worse. Food and nutrients are really important for kids because they are in their initial days of growing up. They need proper nutrition to grow up properly. And if you see a change in eating habits, or maybe loss of appetite in your child, you should not go on making the child eat more instead of that you should consult a specialist about it and get the matter cured as soon as possible.

MENATL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT

Extreme mood swings
This one is the most easily noticeable symptom of depression. Extreme mood changes or extreme mood swings are an evident sign of a mental illness, although it can be depression or any other problem. Mostly everyone experiences mood swings to a certain degree, but if the mood swings are really abrupt, then it can be a problem. You should provide a close look at the mood swings. Any medical history
Any sort of medical history can be a definite cause of mental history. If a child has had any sort of medical problem in the past, that can result in mental trauma in the present or the future. For example, even if a child has a physical injury, that can utterly affect this mental health because other children can make fun of him or physical pain can land him in depression or other mental disorders. Both Mental and physical health are equally important and responsible for good health.

Rakhi, the communication piece, is a huge indicator. You are correct that children tend to communicate in the early stages. I noticed that even with my shy children, they would eventually communicate with other children/ These are some excellent tips and a great article.
