B for Building Garden space in the House- A2Z Blogchatter

The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies but never grows to the enduring happiness that the love of gardening gives. – Gertrude Jekyll

In my journey of gardening, I have met many people who would often visit my home and comment on how I manage to make space for these plants. As mentioned in my earlier posts as well, one can find plants in several corners of my house. I love to keep the space bright and lively with these natural add ons. In this post, I will be talking about building space at your home for working on your passion for gardening. So, read through some of my creative and unique ideas for building garden space that includes bringing outdoors inside if you have no yard or balcony.  Get your green thumbs ready for window-box flowers, vertical gardens, hanging plants, tiny veggie gardens, and more.v

Here are ways to building garden space in your house

  • Vertical garden setup With the lack of space in most of the houses off late people has started adopting vertical garden set up. This vertical garden can be created in your balcony wall or even at the entrance gate of your house or any wall in your house that gets good daylight. All you need to do is contact a good nursery in your locality and get them to make the necessary arrangement for the vertical garden and plants apt for these small planters in a vertical garden.

  • Getting a Terrarium- I usually love to have huge plants in the corners of my house. But the beautiful created Terrarium can have a great impact on your home décor. Tiny Terrariums placed in geometric planter adds to the unique appeal of small spaces in the house. In fact, they are also great as you can either hang them or also place it on your TV unit, side tables, or even the coffee tables. Building garden space
  • Plants on Shoe rack- This is one piece of furniture that most of us will have in the house and is lying in one corner just to fulfill its purpose of holding on to the ever-flowing shoes 😊. Well, jokes apart, trust me shoe rack can add to a wonderful element in your house that needs to be decorated well. And I strongly believe we can transform every little space that is not being used in the house. So yes, coming back to the shoe rack. You could buy a beautiful white planter a pot a snake plant/spider plant/ money plant/ ZZ plant or anything that will survive in less light and indoors. I have an assortment of all these on my huge shoe rack.

  • Landscape your house entrance- We have placed a lovely teak wood bench as soon as we enter our house. And to make the entry feel good, I have added a touch of greenery with a lovely looking fiddle fig plant that gives us a feeling of a zen garden.

  • Use your sunny room- If you do not have much outdoor space available in the house use the room that is well lit and gets good sunlight. You could just add a lovely bamboo tree in a big planter or also put a large succulent to give the dessert-like feel to your room. And if you want to know my favorite tree, then it’s none other than Fiddle fig. A huge tree in a lovely planter sitting in the corner.
  • Balcony railings- These days we get some beautiful hanging metal and plastic planters you could easily use the railing space in your balcony and hang some beautiful plants and make your space beautiful

  • Window sill- If you are not the lucky one to have a huge balcony worry not. You can anytime use your window to put small pots and plants. You could also hang a planter on the window grills.

  • Kitchen garden- I am sure we all need beautiful smelling herbs to make our food tastier. So why not make a small kitchen garden in our utility space provided in the kitchen. You could plant basic herbs in the growth bags in case you are in a rented space or if it’s your own house you can get grills made on the wall to keep your herbs garden in one corner of the utility area.

  • Hanging on walls- For a plant lover like me, there is no dearth of space available at home to decorate them. I love to hang my money plants, spider plants, English ivy vine in the hanging planter on the walls. This definitely adds a statement to your wall décor and a perfect solution for less space in the house
