These chemicals released in the body causes nausea, diarrhoea and headaches too.

  1. Hot Compress- Applying heat to the abdomen and lower back gives quite a lot of relief from pain and cramps.
  2. Turmeric Milk- Curcumin is a natural chemical present in turmeric that helps with premenstrual syndrome. Thus, having warm turmeric milk with its medicinal properties is a great way to get relief from pain.
  3. Essential oils massage- Massage therapy usually helps relieve the pain. Take any good essential oil and apply it to your abdomen. Gently press with your fingers around the abdomen, side and back.
  4. Fennel seeds- Certain dietary changes also helps relieve the pain and other symptoms. Fennel relieves cramps and pains associated with PMS. It helps restore the hormonal imbalance. Since its also a natural diuretic and good for digestion it helps to reduce bloating.
  5. Cinnamon- Anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties of cinnamon help relieve cramps and pains. The presence of calcium, iron and manganese helps in digestion and blood sugar control.

  8. Ginger honey tea- Hot tea relieves muscle spasms and reduces tension that leads to anxiety and irritability. A cup of ginger honey or chamomile will soothe nausea and bloating along with overall PMS issues.
  9. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables- Ensure that your diet consists of lots of high fibre fruits and vegetables and whole grains.
  10. Yoga & exercise- Yoga is a gentle exercise that also releases endorphins and helps prevent or reduce menstrual symptoms. Light exercise such as swimming and walking can ease stomach cramps, relieve headaches, reduce bloating, and lift the depression that some women feel during menstruation.
