This is how I ensure my kids’ safety in these pandemic times

Kids’ safety in these pandemic times

Once upon a time, there was roaring laughter and giggles in the play area of our society. Kids could be found running helter-skelter, some falling, some fighting, and some laughing out loud. The wonders of carefree childhood would often amaze me. However, with the current pandemic situation, everything has changed. And the new normal is all about constantly sanitizing/washing hands and keeping the mask on. Yes, as we all know by now face mask is one of the most important weapons to protect us from the situation on hand.kids' safety in these pandemic times As a parent myself I am constantly under the fear and running behind my kids to wash the hands, again and again, change clothes immediately after the play, take bath after playtime, use sanitizer when out, and most importantly don’t let the mask come down your nose. And past few weeks have been truly bad with an exponential rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. Since children are also at risk of contracting the virus along with old-aged people and young adults, it’s imperative to focus on kids’ safety as well.

I have been doing few things to ensure that my kids remain safe and still be able to enjoy childhood. Would love to share with you all a few things that you should also do to ensure your kids’ safety in these pandemic times.

Mask up

Mask is one of the most important accessories that I ensure my kids have on in front of anyone outside of our house. When they are going to the play area, I make sure they have the mask on. The need to ensure 100% safety of my kids led me to one of the amazing brands which have masks with activated carbon. These are My Mask Series 1 Antiviral, Anti-pollution masks that have built-in filters made of activated carbon and copper. The use of this mask can help us stay protected from viruses, pollutants, and poisonous gases with 99.96% efficiency.

kids' safety in these pandemic times

The first layer of the mask is a fabric, the second one is an activated carbon impregnated with Copper, and the inner layer is again a fabric. These masks can easily be used safely for 6 months with once in a week wash required at home. Every mask comes in a breath-free pouch along with a test report of the mask. I was quite happy to know that they are tested for a foolproof delivery to eradicate 99.96% of all known bacteria and viruses. Now, this assures the mother in me for complete kids’ safety in these pandemic times.

Safety Precautions

Taking Safety Precaution is the second most important thing after the masks as we need to avoid the crowd. As I said I do take my kids to the play area but only when there are no other kids around. This helps in ensuring that contact with others is almost nil.

Washing hands

Regularly washing hands is one of the best habits that we parents can instill in our kids from a young age. And with the current situation, it has become all the more imperative to teach this to kids. I ensure that my kids wash their hands every one hour even when they are at home. There are many exposure points even at home. Parcels coming from outside, groceries, milk packets and so much more. So, we must make the kids wash their hands regularly.

Sanitizers

Both my kids have become attuned to the use of sanitizers at regular intervals when out of the home. Maintaining distance from all the objects that can come in contact with the body is most crucial to avoid any germ transfers as well. To make it fun and to ensure they do it voluntarily we have got a lovely cartoon squeezy sanitizer bottle for them. And they simply love squeezing the sanitizer on their hands regularly.

An effective way to Sanitize Common touchpoints for Parents

Using disinfectant sprays and liquids to ensure that all common touchpoints are thoughtfully sterilized every now and then may be a hassle for our parents. As a result, I’ve turned to a truly innovative device called ‘MY’ UV One Portable UV Sterilizer. I can now sterilize nearly everything, including my keys, door handles, appliances, and toys, before allowing my children to reach and play with them. This device has made my life much simpler, and in terms of protection, I can now take a breather because this portable UV Sterilizer has been lab-tested and certified to eliminate 99.99% of all known viruses and bacteria.

Complete Vaccination

Ensure that your kids are completely vaccinated as per their age. Having basic vaccines shots of flu also ensures that the immunity levels of your child are comparatively better.

So, these are the basic things that we are doing to ensure kid’s safety in these pandemic times. Aside from all these, it’s also important to ensure the mental well-being of your child during these tough times. Due to lockdown and restrictions to move around kids can get mental stress too. Thus, to help your kids tide through this you can make them do video calls with their friends, inculcate the habit of reading, and various other hobbies.

“I strongly believe that this war against covid begins at home and with a little bit of effort, precautions, and care we can win easily”.

Ya I think teaching them to follow all protocol is the best we can do now. Masking up is a pain yet we must make it a compulsion to make sure they are safe.

That’s a wonderfully written article. I think we need to talk more and more about the importance of vaccination and why it’s definitely not a threat, as a majority of people seem to believe. More power to you for putting these down for us.

I know few parents who had skipped due vaccinations of kids for pandemic purpose. No matter what, it is really necessary that all vaccinations should be given on time.
