Reasons You Need To Choose Eco-Friendly Ganesha This Festive Season

When buying idols, people always rely on POP as they are very attractive, easy to make, and cheap. Be it any festive occasion, the pop idols are the most sold ones in the market.

But have you ever thought about getting eco-friendly Ganesha over the POP ones?

If not, this article is all you need to read to learn about these environmentally friendly Ganeshas.Eco-Friendly GaneshaWhat is Eco-Friendly Ganesha?

These idols are made from natural materials that include clay, papers, natural fibre and other biodegradable materials. When POP idols are harmful to our health and environment, eco-friendly ones are safe for everyone.

Around the time of Ganesh Chaturthi, hundreds of Ganesh idols are submerged in the sea. POP being a non-biodegradable element, tends to create a lot of pollutants. However, when you immerse eco-friendly Ganesha in water, they tend to degrade quicker and don’t even harm the environment.

Why Eco-Friendly Ganesha is the Best Option For Next Ganesh Chaturthi?

If you haven’t thought about the eco-friendly option of idols, then here are a few reasons why you should consider them:

1) No Pollution

One of the significant drawbacks of POP Ganesha idols is that they don’t tend to degrade quickly in the water that eventually pollutes them. These idols increase the acid content in the water and even kill the organisms in the water. It is essential to keep life underwater alive as it makes a significant part of our ecosystem. Severe water pollution will also lead to lung diseases and skin ailments.

2) Reduced Metal Content

Plaster of Paris comprises gypsum, magnesium, sulphur and phosphorus that pollute the water. Even the dyes used in these idols contain arsenic, lead, carbon and mercury, contaminating agents. The high amount of chemicals and metal in the water will kill flora and fauna under the water.

Here are some unique facts about Ganesha

3) No Glitters and Dyes

Dyes and glitter used in the POP idols are harmful to your health. The glitter coating on the idol will rub off on your clothes and skin when inhaled will develop respiratory issues and lung diseases. You will become more prone to allergies, but not when you choose Eco-Friendly Ganesha. These idols do not have such health risks as they are made of natural ingredients.

4) A Creative Craft Exercise

The most exciting part of owning Eco-Friendly Ganesha is that you can make them yourself. You will get proper guidance with the package to guide you through. There will be paper mache aata, turmeric and clay in the packet.

It will be fun to create your own environment-friendly Ganesha idol. It is the perfect bonding time for you and your family.

The Bottom Line

Celebrating festivities can be made better if you think a little about our environment as well. When Ganesh Chaturthi adds to water pollution, you need to rely on Eco-Friendly Ganesha to reduce contamination. These idols are made of natural ingredients that make them safe for your health and the environment.

India is a land of festivities. But as you said if we include the environment element in it then our happiness will be doubled. Most of the time, we celebrate the festival without thinking much about how much harm we are causing to the environment, and later when we think about it, we realize it.

Aww! It’s already time to start planning for Ganpati bappa to arrive. Definitely agree that eco-friendly idols should be considered to save our environment from more damage than we have already caused.

I strongly support the thoughts of ‘Go eco friendly.’ From the year 2016,,, I am only bringing eco-friendly Ganesha to my home, and promised myself to continue with this practice in the the future also. I wish every Indian could understand the real meaning of celebration by being equally responsible towards environment.

Eco friendly ganapati is something we have been bringing in our society for quite some time now. As we all worship God, we also worship nature and the only way to make our nature happy is by not harming It. We have already done enough harm now it’s time to repay by going green in everything.

The Ganesha festival is very popular in India, especially in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and other southern states. But one of the environmental hazards has been the disposal of the idols, it is really desirable that more and more people use eco-friendly Ganesha idols. Sandy N Vyjay
