Top Monsoon Skin Care Tips- Here’s how you can take care of your skin during rains

With the onset monsoons, we have got a much-needed respite from the sweltering heat. We just cannot ignore the beautiful earthy fragrance we get with the first drop of rain. The cool breeze and lush surroundings give peace to the mind and heart. However, with every season change there comes its own share of skin-related problems. While the rainy season may bring long spells of rain, it also brings along high humidity levels that can be a nightmare for your skin, especially for those who already have oily and acne-prone skin. As per the changing seasons, it’s important to take care of your skincare regime. And the basic rule of skincare is to cleanse and moisturize. To help you tide through the changing weather and skincare problems we have charted out an effective skincare routine. So, sit back and read these top monsoon skincare tips and home remedies that you should include in your daily routine.

Here are some quick monsoon skincare tips to keep your skin healthy

Avoid too much makeup- Due to increased humidity skin tends to become oily and is vulnerable to breakouts as well. Thus, it’s imperative that you avoid too much makeup in the monsoon season as it can clog up the pores which are already filled with oil.  Blackheads and whiteheads are also quite common beauty issues during seasonal changes. To avoid these, make sure your skin is hydrated and clean. You can follow a skincare routine mention in the below-given steps to keep the skin healthy.

Step 1 Exfoliation-Exfoliation is one of the 1st steps of a skincare regime. It removes the dead skin and also helps unclog the pores. You could use homemade exfoliators like coffee, tea bag, sugar, baking soda, papaya, oatmeal, and yogurt. Ensure that you use mildly abrasive exfoliator ingredients. This step helps in the growth of new skin cells giving your natural radiance.Monsoon Skincare Tips

Step 2 Cleansing- Once you are done with the first step of exfoliation your skin pores are open and the skin is able to breathe well. Now as a next step you can use coconut oil, tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, aloe vera, honey and lemon, and rose water to cleanse the skin with gentle massage. Just rub anyone of these things on the face in an upward movement and wash off with normal tap water.

Step 3 Toning- Toning is the 3rd step in making your skin better. I usually prefer using homemade toners or natural ingredients to tone the skin as readily available toners in the market are not that great and have chemicals as well. Toning will help you remove the leftover dirt on the face and if any makeup is left then that too. You can use natural ingredients like green tea, lemon juice, rose water, cucumber water, and chamomile tea for toning your skin.

Step 4 Moisturizing- Last but not least moisturizing is the final step in your skincare regime. Moisturizing the skin is very important as it helps you keep the skin hydrated and soft.  Some of the natural moisturizers include cucumber, organic coconut oil, hemp seed oil, and olive oil. These moisturizers do not leave your skin oily and give a supple feeling.

When it’s to skincare I always prefer to use home remedies and ingredients that are easily available in our kitchen. There are various products available in the market but it’s better if you can make your own face packs and follow a healthy skincare regime. With monsoon knocking almost everywhere, it’s important that you follow these monsoon skin care tips to keep your skin healthy and hydrated.

In my next post, I will be sharing some more monsoon skincare tips along with dedicated face packs for the season.

increase humidity is main reason that causes many skin problems during monsoon. but following a good skin care routine of cleaning, toning and moisturizing can help a lot to prevent the routine skin problems. I use red lentil face pack to control extra oiliness in skin and it also work as a natural bleaching agent too.

Exfoliation is indeed a top priority in skincare for monsoons. Physical exfoliators can be abrasive if they contain ingredients like walnut, apricot etc. While so rightly you have mentioned the milder ones like oatmeal, sugar and coffee
